Hi All,
I am in the market for a new tripod and have narrowed my choice down to the two models listed above. I have tried the Sunpak and it is a very nice sturdy tripod which would suit me fine but I would prefer something slightly more compact. I am unable to locate a store in my area that stocks the Slik Sprint Pro which looks better on paper however I am concerned about the stablity of it as it is much lighter and is a 4 leg section tripod. I have read a post on here from a while ago (Now you guys have had yours for a while how do you like it?) but it didn't say much about stablity . I have Fuji S602. Anyone??

Cheers, Andre

Myself, I like the sprint pro. I have had no problems with stability. it is lightwright, and when the legs are totally extended, I could see in a very strong wind it may sway some when set up as tall as it will go. I inserted a hook into the bottom to hang weight onto also. If I need more stability I use the weight and also splay the legs out farther. It has 3 different "settings" to widen the legs out. It has, by the way, only 3 sections in the legs.
One fun thing...you can turn over the center post and it can hang your camera upside down, over something (shots over holes, etc.).
Something else Iam looking to rig up, is a shoulder strap or something. It is the perfect size that I carry the camera on it, with the tripod tucked under my right arm, and it adjusted to where I can hold it right up to my eye for more stable handheld shots (whil walking, etc.)

i have a lightweight Slik 800G-FL
different model - but i am happy with it ( bout 10 years old now )

and i was able to buy a carry case for it -w a shoulder strap
i can only leave my kodak mounted and fit in the bag but...

also i threw an old t-shirt in the bottom to add some padding.
