Greetings Good People!

I am using CS2 and was wondering how one goes about dropping a realistic shadow in a picture. I am replacing a shot of five guys with a different BG and was wondering about tips on creating shadows for them.

Any steps or links would be tremendously appreaciated.

thanks in advance!

I just typed create realistic drop shadow photoshop in Google. That is the first link that showed up. It will do the trick. Try Google, it works wonders!

I would create a path around the subject, use the transform tool to get it the right angle,
then turn it into a selection on another layer, then fill it with black.

Then, just play with blending modes, opacity, and feathering until it looked right.

This is pretty straightforward, but the skew command is disconnecting the shadow from the back foot, so that's a problem in the example they show. Not sure how to fix that, actually; it's not something I've ever worked with.

What do you mean by skew command?
