This tutorial really helped me see what could be possible in turning a good image into a stunning one! Thank you so much.
A question - is this legal in the new advanced rules? |

Could you give more detail on gradients used? I am PS novice, so some stuff is unclear.

You're right, I didn't notice the raft. That may speak to its legality (that I didn't notice it until it was pointed out makes it fairly insignificant), but it would be an iffy call for sure. On the other hand, had he left it in it would not have really damaged the image IMO. The main thing is, the processing steps, which are quite sophisticated, are legal.

Another question - with image 4 and image 6, what is a gradient overlay/how would it put the emphasis on the foreground? Thanks.

I'm also new to Photoshop. Is there a way to simplify the steps? I try to follow them, but don't come to the same end-product... |

i don't know how late i am but, i did send you a message about how to achive this look. Well i thought i'd upload my attempt. I used your photo since i live in TN and have no spots around me like this one. I know it is diffrent but i have learned a few new tools to use that seem to make a huge diffrence. For the gradient overlay, are those the percentages and drop-downs you used? Overlay at 58%, then you did a Color dodge at 61%? I'm just trying to see what steps you took exactly. Trying to learn the subtleties myself :)
