I really like the concept of your first one ... I think you could move all the text to the lower half (on the water) and leave the sky blank. If you do that, you should align text right to balance against the left leaning dock.

But I love the color in the second one as well.

Why not make them both?

I like the second one better, just try different fonts.

I like the second one better by far. Though that first one is gonna get someones attention which is the idea.

I would probably prefer a card where the picture didn't cover the entire surface but rather a card with a "blank" part for the text. It's much more readable that way.

I like both BUT I must admit I dislike the fancy fonts plus the use of too many fonts on the second card in particular.

Definitely worth viewing the images at the correct size and deciding whether the text is big enough.

Take the first one and fade the image out towards the bottom, giving you a black section to put your text in - That would look nice!

They both do a good job of catching my attention.

One thing that nobody else has mentioned... you have a back border with a thin white line going around each of them. When they print the cards, they won't guarantee that you'll see the whole image or that it will be 100% centered on the card (i.e. the edges of image will be cropped, and it may not be by the exact same amount on all sides).

Therefore, I would bleed the image all the way to the edge, getting rid of the black border and the white line.

The reason is... if one side happens to be cut a little closer to the edge than another, then with such thin borders around the edges it will be very obvious and will look like a mistake that the edges don't match.

So help out the printer by not giving them such a tiny border where a difference like that will be so noticeable.

I agree with the others on increasing the size of the text and reducing the number of fonts. Other than that, I really like your ideas. Very unique.
