I've just finished voting and commenting on the Urban challenge. I have left over 90 comments (I hope I have not hurt anyone's feeling in the process). I incourage my fellow DPCers to do the same. Leave as many as you can.

For every comment you leave, let me know, I will post one more.

Hey I can promise you, that you didn't hurt my feelings with your comment. You left a really good comment, and I am glad you liked my image (not that you know which one it is lol)

I've left 73 comments so far on the urban challenge and over 60 on the dreams and nightmares challenge. I've tried to be specific about what I liked or didn't like about the photo and I also hope I haven't hurt anyone's feelings, though judging from the emails of thanks, I'm guessing not too many.

Wish more comments would be left, it's very helpful

I left 61 comments on the urban landscape challenge, with more waiting. I'm forcing myself to comment on any I score 4 or below, and it was a joy to comment on the 10 top ones. There were so many great photos this time. Hope I haven't upset anyone. Remember, my opinion is just that, MY opinion. It's no better or worse than your opinion.

I've done 20 so far.. still working on it. I know how troubling it is to have no comments. I *finally* got one comment.. and I have 172 votes, so I'm very grateful to that one person!

I try to do a random sampling of my votes when I comment - I'm going to aim for at least 20 percent..

I commented on the first 60 photos, then I just voted on the rest. I go back and look at the thumbnails after voting. If one of the thumbnails jumps out at me, I'll comment.

I just commented on the entire Dreams and Nightmares Challenge. All 114 of them, I don't have an entry in the challenge and I hope no one was offended by any of my comments, I tried to let them know how I personally felt about the shot and what I felt, I am by no means any type of expert, but like others have said I think it's really nice to get comments and at least I know every entry got at least one comment on that challenge.

I'll never get that far on the Urban Landscapes challenge though, LOL!

Though I'm close to 1/2 of that one

Timmi

Go back through the Dreams and Nightmares you may hit my this time :)
I love hearing your comments.
I'am going to set a personal record this go round for comments.
26 positive so far and 1 negative :)

Neuferland already commented on mine and I love it!

It is so helpful to get informative comments.
I need to try and find more time to do the same.
I know everyone looks forward to reading helpful comments.

I followed up on Calvus' suggestion and went to comment on the Dreams challenge. This one was much harder for me, as I do not want to insult people's dreams. There is such a wide space for interpretation, that it is very hard to separate what belongs in that challenge and what doesn't.

I left 70 comments, but on some of the lower scored images, I couln't bring myself to comment. Some images (although only very few) were pretty bad and I don't have the guts to tell the person that IMO their photo sucks. I am not a professional, neither do I have the experience to tell others that they are any better or worse than me.

So I hope I didn't make any enemies in the process.

It's not a matter of telling them they are better or worse than you, it's how you word it. You can tell them you didn't quite get the vision they were going for and then comment on the photo itself, how does it appeal to you personally? Did you feel it was too dark, too light, were there distracting elements, did you find yourself drawn in? I tried to find at least one positive thing about each picture to go with the negative I might have said also.

Managed to leave a comment on every image in the dream challenge. I have had so many comments on my images lately that I felt it time to repay the effort. now...on to the Urban Landscape. Dont know if I will be able to do that again, but will vote as many as I can.

Timmi and Neuferland: You made similar comments on my Dreams entry, both disliking a particular aspect of the photo. Others made comments stating how much they liked it. Both views are valid and it's nice to hear both sides. I really appreciate the time you have taken to comment on so many entries (mine in particular).

You are most welcome, I crave feedback on my work, good or bad, so I can improve and I'm hoping by giving that to others it will inspire them to try to comment on more shots.

Urban buildings was my first challenge and in the process of shrinking my image down so I could upload it to this site in the required size I seem to now have a "grid" or "lines" on the thumbnail.

Anyone know how that happened?

I appreciate all comments.

timmi, Neuferland - I found both your comments well written and constructive...thank you both for taking the time to comment so much!

I am trying to do my voting in little bits and comment as much as I can, but you will have to forgive my stream of conciousness comments - I hope they make sense!
