I am seeing some odd things between my D70S and my wifes D70. See this thread for more detail

I was wondering if you could tell what you are getting for availble pics on a freshly formatted 1GB Cf card. I am trying to determine if this is normal if something is wrong with my D70...Thanks!

Edit: Didn't mention saving in RAW without JPG

Are you looking at the number of pictures you are getting after using the card or what the camera is telling you that you are going to get?

double post - you're really losing sleep here huh?

94 RAW on mine

Be calm dude. There's nothing wrong with your 70, there's something right with your S.

I shoot Raw plus basic jpeg. This gets me consistently 158 shots on a 1 Gig card.

I'm just curious is all. And certainly if there is a problem with one of my cameras I'd like to know about it.

See 94 RAW is what I'm seeing as well on the D70. But 171 RAW on the D70S? And yes, I can get all 171 pics on the card... hmmm it's a mystery..

3. The number of exposures remaining, displayed in the control panel and viewfinder, when shooting at an image-quality setting of NEF (RAW) or NEF+JPEG Basic has been changed (the number is calculated based on the size of compressed RAW file).

Version 2.00: NEF (RAW): approx. 44 exposures; NEF+JPEG Basic: approx. 39 exposures
