Hello guys,
I have taken a few photos of a shooting and resulting car wreck and am submitting them to the newspaper....what do you think of these two?

I think the last one gives the best view IMO. |

the middle one is histerical... It shouldn't be but it is. THe first time I looked I just liked it better because of the one cop, then I looked again and saw the fast food menu and started to wonder what the heck happened.
That really cracked me up... hopefully no one was hurt? |

The first one is the best image overall I think, compositionally it has strong elements to pull the viewer in (police car in foreground, smashed car in middleground, and emergency vehicle in background) and is exposed correctly.
The second gets the humor award and the photo editor of the paper may think exactly the same - I can see that one actually being used. The lighting in it is a little extreme and appears to be slightly underexposed.
The last one is a clinical police scene shot with the bad guys car surronded by police officers. The backlighting (flare off window) is minorly distracting.
Curious - Were you on assignment, or just happened to be in the right place at the right time with your camera? ;^) |

I happened to be at the right place with my camera...it happened about 2 blocks from my house....also..I titled the middle one "Hmm..should I have #3 or #4 today?" The captain loved it. I wasn't a news photographer or reporter...BUT I AM NOW!!!!!!!!!! WooHoo!!
Oh and THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS....They really helped!!!
P.S. One man died at the scene the other is in ICU at the hopsital exprected to recover.
