Hmmm ... hmmmmm.... I dont understand either... And we are suposed to recreate a scene from a comic strip? |

and is the "major elements rule" just in regards to moving/removing/duplicating or are we allowed to introduce new "major elements"?
I seem to remember this argument.
But the test rule at least is pretty clear cut

My take is, we can create any scene that "resembles" a Far Size comic strip, be it original or not. Also, since this challenge allow text, we can put in funny captions to make it comical. But I don't really understand how the "major element" rule can be properly applied if we are only allowed Basic Editing... hmm |

I would think that works but moreso to come up with a new concept just based on his style. |

I think the basic editing thing is a mistake. It's running as a member challenge. Have we ever had basic editing for a member challenge before?

my thought too, but then again, Langdon is known to sometimes have a "sick" sense of humour ;) It's like, see, but don't touch! |

Too bad the Run to the Farside marathon is in November :(
Edit: Seems like they are changing the name of the race this year after 21 years. Maybe folks will still dress up as their favorite "Farside" characters anyways.

This should be an interesting challenge. So much of Gary's cartoons centered around animals acting like people. I love to see someone stuff a cow in a car just for this shoot. :P
Btw, here's one that could work easily...

dont worry about it. he isn't popular in this part of the planet too, but the challenge is fairly easy. Just get a 1-box comic sort of thing and give it a caption. Shouldn't be too hard... I gotta start taking photos again, and hope I can get in this one :) |

I looked at some of the worth1000 photos - they have cut & paste from other photos. My question for our DPC challenge now is:
are we allowed to cut & paste elements from within our own photo?
move it around? distort it? |

I don't think there's extra rules on this challenge so the answer would be no. |

Extra rules: "Neither the 'major elements' clause nor the 'Text' clause apply to this challenge."
The major elements clause reads: "However, using any editing tools to duplicate, create, or move major elements of your photograph is not permitted."
To me, this implies that you can now duplicate, create and move major elements in your photo. It will be fun to see the results in any event.
