Just curious?
How many take the simple protective measure of marking all their photo archives as "read-only" to help prevent deletion from a malignent batch script or virus?

If you count creating DVD backup's of all my image files the same as marking them "read only", then I raise my hand. |

Unfortunately, marking them read-only does nothing to stop a malicious script from deleting files.
In programming terms, what is used in script is the FileSystemObject. The delete method of that object requires a file name to delete, and an optional parameter called [force]. If force is set to TRUE, then the file will be deleted regardless of the read-only bit being set.
Your only real protection is backups and anti-virus software.
