Anyone here into older video games?
Like, anything pre Playstation. There's a big age range here, so there must be some Amiga and Sega fans. I've just started a website on retro gaming www.retrocore.co.uk and it's really got my back into everything.
I've got a pretty huge collection of Sega stuff seeing as the megadrive dominated my childhood. Since discovering ebay i could afford all the games my parents couldn't afford in the nineties. |

Did you ever have an atari? :) If not, I'm starting to feel old. |

My xbox has roms for ALL the oldschool games.. Atari, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega, N64.. goes on... Every single game for each system to.. Fully restored and no freezing anymore.
Get a modded Xbox and you can have all your favorites again. |

The only game I've ever taken seriously is Duck Hunt. Everything else has too many buttons. |

Nope, sorry, not into them anymore...
One thing that is kind of interesting is that Xbox Live Arcade is putting a lot of the old stuff online for people to play and people are playing the shiznit out of em... XBL offers leaderboards so your scores are ranked in real time which gives the competitive types reason to play em until they get that top rank. (people have scores in the billions on bejeweled 2 as an example)
The old stuff that they are running on xbl:
Pacman, Street Fighter II, Galaga, Frogger, Astropop, Smash TV, Robotron 2084, Mutuant Storm, Joust, Geometry Wars, Gauntlet, Marble Blast Ultra, Feeding Frenzy and more... they are releasing Contra on live arcade soon...way cool oldie.
Coin-ops on a HD Machine you ask? You got to try it, man they are addicting.
Back on Topic... I was a Faithful Sega Fan until they sold out to the dark side... their units were always a step ahead of the comp and the whole Sonic Francise was a blast.
Pong
Colecovision
Coleco Adam Expansion for Colecovision (Dragon Lair on Cassette woohoo)
Sega Genesis + Atari 2600 adapter (remember Pitfall)
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Xbox (beta and xbl beta test)
Xbox 360
All I got left is the XBox and 360...
Work kept getting in the way of my gaming, so I got my XBOX original hooked to a 42" Plasma in my office... Woot! |

ok, we used to have a C64 when I was like 5 years old.
We had a game and it was about some weird guy on a stone-wheel, he had to go thrue some fields to save a girl in a castle. You could see her screaming "help" in the right-top-corner.
I have no clue what the name of that game was.. who can help me out?

I had a Vic20, a Commodore 64 an Atari 2600. I used to love to type in the code for games from Commodore magazine on my C64, save them to cassette and then play them for hours.
PEEK POKE PEEK POKE ... who remembers those commands for graphics and sound in C64 BASIC?

Ever play Chiller? Now THAT game was just messed up.
I had a commodore 128 because I was so awesome! (not that I or anyone else ever used it in 128 mode). I used to trade games with my 600 baud modem over BBS.
Later got into Amiga and then in college had to finally make the switch to PCs. I miss my Amiga with HAM mode :( Never had a Video Toaster though. |
