Thought it might be fun to do what ergo did with a couple of goodman's images. Find one of your favs of another photog, and write a haiku to go with it!!

I'll start:

Pierce to the marrow
If looks could kill......I'm dying
I wince in sharp pain

Desire, prowess, intellect

To eat, poop, nap, eat some more
Don't bite my hand off

Taste a winter evening
cyclist in a concrete void
red streaked emptiness

oh look - have you seen
this man's delightful dancing?
he does it with style

I will devour
everything in my path and
that includes stonehenge

out of the darkness
you must flee for I have brought
the light that you need

nothing is cuter
than a guinea pig's face when
they're the pet you love

the flowing hair of
a woman and her dear child -
beautiful in grey

this is all you get
no more of me will I show
that's just too bad, boys

Pockets of Despair
Little dolly christmas lights scattered everywhere.

haiku does have rules, but since the form is Japanese, they only make sense in the Japanese language.

If you like, you can follow the syllable pattern of haiku and write a line of 5 syllables, a line of 7 syllables and a line of 5 syllables. Some, though, choose to simply write three short lines. haiku are supposed to have a seasonal reference. they should also refer to that great green mess we call "nature." But to really understand haiku, I would suggest reading a bunch of them by Basho.

5,7,5, seasonal, nature, ok, mmmmm,

thanks, that doesn't sound too hard.

No more gathering nuts,

Birdfeeder will be empty & the corncob on the nail.

piercing me with those eyes
hexing me with your spell
according to my challenge scores
my photos are going to hell
I am cursed

edit: Replaced post with one that complies. I didn't read the OP rules either. :(

This is one of Joey Lawrence's, which I found emotionally powerful.

Beauty seen as sin
Closed minds curtailing freedom
Honesty will overcome
