Brittany has ANOTHER question!?
I was at my boyfriends soccer game today , & my camera was acting fine & doing what it needed to do the first 4/5ths of the game, but at the end, it just like... stopped working. the battery was full, the card was good with 100 left, i played with my different shooting moods & everything. all the technicals seemed to be fine . but when i clicked the button to take a picture, it wouldnt take a picture, it was weird. any reason as to why?? i thought id ask before i take it to the store & look goofy. =) thanx in advance.

Any error codes, like 99? Just turn it off and take the batteries out and put em back in...and turn it on...kind of like rebooting the camera.

The other one, my mom did this a couple times when trying one of my lenses was to accidentally hit the AF switch on the lens putting it in manual mode...will really make a cam act funny if you don't realize it...has to ask.

ED: Helps to read the whole post...you said it wouldn't shoot. What mode were you shooting? Some of the Auto Modes won't shot if you are over or under exposed. There is a "safety" setting in the custom settings that can be turned off...I will look it up.

As I was (edit in previous post) Safety Shift is custom function 16 on the 20D... will lock you down (won't shoot when over/under exposed) but it is for Av and Tv modes.

Don't know how that would get turned on half way through a shot?

If I ever have a problem like that, I pull the battery out for 10-15 seconds. Usually fixes it. Otherwise I pull my lens off and make sure nothing is jammed up that I can see.

After that, I growl and grumble ;-)

A similar problem happend to me the other day while shooting a macro. I had just changed the lens to my 60mm and it would not fire off a shot. Everything looked like it was working. Turned it on an off no luck. was going to remove the lens and found it was not locked into place. locked it into place and it has worked fine ever since. Reseat the lens and memory card and see what happens. Good luck
