Today was my first assignment for the newspaper. It turns out, two of my favorite shots were of my boys. They were with a babysitter, enjoying the parade and I shot these as the parade was finishing up.
I just figured I'd post them here. The one of the two of them together I obviously played with in PS for fun. When I find out which the paper uses, I'll probably let ya all know about it..LOL

I did have fun. I would have loved to just spend the day capturing candid's, but my main assigment was getting pictures of the village floats. That doesn't give you a ton of room for creativity!

You do have a great eye for capturing the moment and I am very impressed with your work. |

good work! really love the second one. if you're lucky, you're going to find that you rarely have time to do much more pp than sizing/cropping/sharpening and slight color corrections--and maybe rotating ;-) |

The only thing they want me to do is crop and caption! I already submitted those two pics, unedited, to the paper. I went right from the event to their office! I was taking those pics more for personal use but the editor liked them and had me caption them.
I don't mind not having to edit, although some I can't wait to get my Photoshop hands on..LOL! When I shot for the magazines in Pensacola, I did ALL the post-processing work right down to converting everything to CMYK. I don't miss spending hours working on editing an assignment.
I promise to do some commenting, tomorrow, for everyone who has commented on mine. I really appreciate it :)
edit: for grammar

I forgot to tell you about the SCARIEST part of the day!!!
.....using a Mac to caption the photos at the PDN office! It was the first time I have ever touched a Mac.
Are you ready for the quote of the day from my mouth?
"Where is the right-click button???"
She laughed at me.

OOOOoo!!!! So not all Mac's are missing a right click button? It was an Apple mouse. It was pretty clear, but a black base I think. The top of the mouse was solid with no buttons. You just pushed anywhere at the tip for a 'left click' effect.

I just plugged a mouse in my Mac with a right mouse click. Mighty Mouse is a thing I can NOT reccommend; it gets dirty and won't scroll anymore ;-)
