I thought of a good theme for a series of challenges - the elements, which would also be good practice for gaining control of the camera in difficult lighting situations.
Do a series with the theme of water, fire, earth, and wind.

Chinese elements: water/wood/fire/earth/metal

Sounds like a great idea to me?

I think that's a great way to sneak in an open sort of challenge. :-D Nice theme to work with..structure but with lots of flexibility.

I think the challenge description should explicitly say maybe that the element has to be noticeably in your shot, but doesn't have to be the main focus of your shot. That might get rid of some of those "Doesn't meet the challenge" comments.

I already entered one of these. Has the earth, wind, fire, and water...all in one shot. (C:
