You will always be my first love, Robert - Lexi and Karma have matching outfits -- Rikki can't touch that! :P

the best part of the abstract food challenge is all the food I 'had' to buy to test if it was picture worthy. I am enjoying the key lime pie now. :)

I don't know Bear's score, but I will bet it involves a pepper of some type. Robert is mostly known for his landscapes, but it's less known that any shot of his involving a vegetable is 98% of the time a pepper... ;)

I think I can guess...

Hey Melethia, thanks for the prod yesterday. While I was cursing you when I had a 5.1 at 10 votes, I am doing a fair amount better than that now...

Well I knew my score wouldn't last although this morning I was feeling mighty good when I woke up with a 7.25 but unfortunately, lots of voters with dictionaries seem to be walking around and slapping folks left and right with DNMC comments or something to that effect.

Hey low votes might come but it still won't stop me from showing this abstract banana!

Dance banana dance! Scare those angry voters away! Bring happiness to all the voters so everyone is happy :)

I knew you had it in you. Now just earmark mine for comment, please, as I'll be traveling when you do your usual call for the "4.5-5.5" range.

Is that a fact? Do you make a distinction between bell peppers and chile peppers?

Chilies would have better color in your cooler climate this time of year, Robert. Ours are already burned out and dark red!

Interesting interplay of shadow and light. I'm struck by the use of color schemes and the blending/melding of the hues to create the drama of 'War and Peace' in one 640x640 frame. Impressive.

I believe the ruling was a pepper of "some type".

Actually, I found a fair amount of squash as well...

Wait! I did that one in the Visual Puns challenge. It didn't do too badly.

Hey, cool! I'm very sensitive to these things 'cuz I'm a lipreader and the kids took great pleasure out of "fooling" me: another classic was "olive juice" for "I love you" (they lipread virtually the same...).

Doc, thanks for exposing all my failures. The "Moonrise, Habaneros" shot is the only one of the bunch that got a decent placing, if I recall correctly. But I always have peppers around. In fact, I have an entire large drawer full of DRIED peppers in massive variety; cook a lot of Latin American food, mostly Mexican.

But I've also shot squashes, as you mentioned, and mushrooms, and jello, and eggs; those come to mind immediately. I'm a food nut, so there's always something to shoot if inspiration fails me :-)

Sounds like you're going to be needing some plop plop fizz fizz
