I think the outtakes will be very interesting. I have one that you wouldn't believe is food. Somehow my 2 yr old made it my wallpaper (everybody else denies it) when she was playing with the computer. I think I'll leave it there.

Score came back up a tiny bit since earlier.

Talking about kids, my 8 years old son recognized it first try... I thought "if he can recognize this, everyone could"... but then again, he is 8 years old who likes to eat that stuff LOL...

It's fun...

I'm so bummed! I truly thought this was an excellent shot, but I guess it's too abstract - or my definition is not the majority's. Wow...

I'm dancin with ya, Jimmy. Dancin with huge quivering tears in my eyes - but still dancin! :/

To the person (and you know who you are) who chose to copy/paste a rather limited/one-sided definition of 'abstract' rather than comment on the photograph at hand..... you're not helping!!

"abstract: Having an intellectual and affective artistic content that depends solely on intrinsic form rather than on narrative content or pictorial representation"
07/17/2006 06:38:05 AM · #85
Already getting bombarded by hate mail as a troll...

From the dictionary:

abstract: Having an intellectual and affective artistic content that depends solely on intrinsic form rather than on narrative content or pictorial representation.

That pretty much jives with what I was taught in art class since 3rd grade as well.

Of the minority percentage of actual abstracts in the challenge, there are some damn nice shots tho.

But, dude - we can all read the dictionary. Comment on the photo please, we don't need the copy/paste chicken-out routine.

Since your average vote cast is 2.960 - I'm guessing you don't find many that do meet the challenge in your opinion?

me: 625 votes cast and 110 comments = left comments on %17.6

you: 15980 votes cast and 447 comments = left comments on 2.8%

Why don't you get off my back and worry about your own proclivity for leaving feedback. My low score is from people who submit pictures of rocks to not-not-moving-stationery challenges, pictures of pretzel men to abstract challenges, etc, etc, etc. I'm a troll.

my photo isn't exactly abstract as defined by the dictionary or anyone else.

i already have two comments that point out my lack of understanding of the abstract.

i guess my conceptual gene is dominant.

Proclivity = good word! I will make it my mission to use it in a sentence today. :-)

Maybe they're not in love with me yet, but it's the morning after and they still respect me! :)

p.s. idnic, the fact that his avg score cast is so insanely low means that his low score for you means nothing. you can safely ignore his comment. :)
