Hey Everybody,
I took a snap of a cemetary and experimented with it. The photo as such is not great but am just experimenting. Also, I'm not sure if it looks better with Sepia or not. Comments please?
Thanks,
Swapna

I like the color version better of the two, just wish you'd shot with a deeper DOF as this mostly oof look makes me dizzy.

I actually did shoot with good DOF. I tried soft focus in my editing.

Colour :) Not sure the soft-focus works here. |

The color is certainly better. Can we see the original without the soft focus.

This is the image without any soft focus and I took out Sharpen too.
Any suggestions on editing I can do?

I would say loose that blown out sky with a crop, I also don't like the soft focus edit version and would keep it color or REALLY work it in B/W to give it an old school feeling.
Powerful image that rings true in today's world.

Without playing around with it, I would tend to agree that a tighter crop, eliminating the sky and a little off the right (where the road is) and some from the left. I like the feeling of 'infinty' and think that could also be enhanced with a tighter crop. Definetly better without the soft focus.

Not so much a suggestion on editing, but if you could take the picture again, I think a shot from an angle that would clearly show the flags planted in front of each stone would make for a more powerful image. |

Like the colour version more than the sepia, though it could work in B&W if the contrast was increased. You should consider getting rid of the sky and loose the soft focus. |

I had a play around with it. I tried using a gradient on the sky but I think it just looks better without it, especially if you use a 8x10 crop ratio. There is a fair bit of noise but if you 'age' the look of it then the noise adds to the image. I tried an aged color shot and a darker sepia image.
