Hello everyone!!
I have searched this site and coldn't find my answer - so I figured while everyone is waiting on the voting and voting themselves...I would lighten the mood :) (smile)
I have a KODAK DX7440
I don't know or understand how to change the exposure time on this.
Any helpful hints would rock!
Thanks in advance!! |

lol...nah, I never take anything meanly.
I have used so many forums and posted so many threads on sooooooo many different sites, that you get used to how people talk...you definitely know when someone is being mean. Or belittling, or just being an a@@. :)
I looked for that shutter speed on camera....and either I am really stupid or it isn't an option. lol.
probably both |

Just looked up your camera, it has the following exposure modes:
Aperture Priority,
Auto Exposure,
Manual Exposure,
Multiple Program Modes,
Shutter Priority
So, the controls have to be there somewhere.

If you put it in shutter priority, you should be able to change the settings for the shutter speed using whatever little dial/wheel control your camera has. I had a Kodak DX-6490 and it worked that way so I would think this one would be similar. Mine was located on the back of the camera just below the shutter release mechanism...you rotated it to change the settings. I hope you figure it out. :)

also, side note, it looks like you copied and pasted this... easier to click the "quote" button to the top right of the post you want to quote and then you can also delete stuff out of the quote if you want.
That was something that took me a bit to figure out, though I know you said you use forums a lot.... *smiles and shrugs sheepishly* |

LOL> thanks ...ya I know I was just doing that so that I could see only those words....
Jog Dial: Tucked in the top right corner of the rear panel, this ridged dial controls a handful of camera settings when rotated. In Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual, or Custom exposure modes, turning the dial moves a triangular yellow cursor between different exposure variables on the LCD monitor, while a full press of the dial selects the current exposure option for adjustment. Once selected, you can change the setting by changing the dial. Pressing the dial again de-selects the current option, so you can choose a different parameter to adjust. Available exposure settings (depending on the particular exposure mode you're in) are exposure compensation, flash exposure compensation, ISO, shutter speed, and aperture.
ya...I see it....I know it spins....but I can't get to the point to see that little yellow cursor...
hmmm....help?

edit to add buzzrock beat me and has better info....
well not sure if you found this page or not but here is part of how to change settings. See first box about custom exposure modes. Looks like you use the up and down arrows to adjust settings once you find what you want to change.
I'll keep looking for other info but their manual kind of stinks.

I have always thought of myself as a decent search engine person...lol
Well thank you for showing me I have a lot to learn....and thank you so much for taking the time out to look this stuff up FOR ME> lol
Man. I can't wait to get started on taking all kinds of different photos now.
If anything this thread is trully a funny one and light hearted compared to the "EMPTY ROOM" one.

Turn the dial to A, S or M - these are the places where you can change the exposure, with M being fully Manual (full control). After switching to one of those modes, use the joystick in the middle and push it up/down (or left/right?) to adjust your exposure.
Actually exposure is a little vague. You should be adjusting the Aperture and/or the Shutter speed. The ISO plays a role too, and I reckon you could get to that in the menus somewhere while using M mode. |
