I had several photos in contention for "The Past" challenge.

Any comments on these two shots (not at all related to my actual entry) is appreciated...

(I ended up not submitting the "Haberdashery" picture because I wasn't sure it said "The Past" enough, and not "The Bedroom Bathroom" because I wasn't sure people would understand it for what it was.)

Both photos are quite crowded ,too busy, many items don't know which one to focus on!Photo quality ,light, colors ,very good I will give you 5 or 6!

i wouldn't go as far as pitsa, but i would say a more constant background in both would be an improvement

Judging by entries - this may well have scored higher than mine is!

Pitsaman - I reckon yours would have been voted down for challenge relevance despite the fact they were taken 'in the past'! Nice sunset shot.

EddyG - while those shots are of 'nostalgic' subjects I feel that they need to be shot from an angle that is either unusual or focuses on some elements of their design/construction that makes them different from today. The shots are, as Pitsaman says, busy and do not hold the attention or interest for long. They are clear and crips shots though - a 4 or 5 from me.

Here's my outtake:

Shame about the leaves in the top of the frame I couldn't quite get rid of when I was framing the shot...

BTW, the castle is from 1385

o i c ..

well seems to me the opposite. that people are SO hung up on meeting the challenge in voting that they tend to shoot for very narrow definitions of it.

I submitted one I prefered... although the relevance to the challenge isn't quite as obvious. Thanks though!

Thanks! My entry's quality is more bland/flat but I prefer the subject. It'll score terribly!! ;)
