I wonder if it is possible that I would miss some photos during voting? I have never actually voted on a challenge or left any comments, but recently have been viewing the entries during voting (often looking at each entry) and then going though them again when the results are posted. I could be crazy, but I would swear that there are images in the results pages after the challenge is over that I never saw during voting. Is that possible? |

I doubt it. You probably just don't notice them since you're not devoting specific voting/commenting attention. |

It takes several seconds for an image to burn itself on your memory - more than 5 seconds.... if you pop through a challenge voting each shot in less that 5 seconds, then odds are your only going to remember a small percentage of all you saw just a few days later. Gotta love human swiss-cheese memory. However, if you see an image for 5 seconds or longer, chances are you will actually remember all 200+ or 300+ weeks after a challenge has ended. I love studies of memory skill.

*not coming down on ya* Just curious, why not vote? You obviously like to view them, so why not click a number?

I think you just may have missed it.
But if you look at every shot, just vote. You dont have to be worry about anything, just press that little button, and vote how you like the shots. |

Or in the case of some cheese shots 0.000000000000001 seconds. :P

And then 5 years of therapy to get them out.

Actually the though that I might be missing some images came to me when I was specifically looking for an image during voting, well sort of. I was trying to identify a specific photographer's image during voting to see if I could spot her "style". I mentally took a guess at which image was hers and then went back to see if I was right when the results were posted. When I saw the one that was hers I felt like I had never seen that photo before, and from some of the aspects of the photo I would have assumed that had I saw it I would have at least considered it as possibly hers (looked at it for longer than 5 seconds). Does that make any sense? And does anyone else do this?
I sort of feel bad now that I have been spending so much time viewing almost every single photo but not voting. I have been "visiting" the site for months now and registered weeks ago (not yet a member), and just started posting and submitting. I am sure voting will come next, but I am still so eager to see how people will respond to my photos and not so confidant voting/commenting on others. I guess I should.
I am interested in the talk about memory this brought up. I can't say my memory is very great, but I can say that I remember images much better than anything else. I see a lot of images day in and out and often can't remember anything but that I have seen that image at sometime. But, I am sure I can't remember them all.

Considering that you registered 8.5 months ago, you're apparently right...your memory isn't that great. ;) |

It's nothing to feel bad about. Just kinda wading in is cool. :-)

WOW!!! I think I must have registered and let it "sit" and then just started using it, forgetting that I had registered already. But point taken! I should clarify, I did think my "visual memory" was pretty good, but no guarantees on anything else! |
