hey everyone!
A while ago, I remember seeing a website with pictures that looked like minature models, but were in fact real, life sized settings. I don't remember if it was on this site that I saw this, but if anyone could give me a link to the page, I'd love them forever. Thanks in advance.

You can, but you can also do something similar (similar, not exactly the same) with the methods mentioned above, and that's free if you already have Photoshop or something like it.

I felt so inspired by the above mentioned thread, that I have been looking for suitable scenes ever since.
However, I'm finding it hard to find a scene that would work, especially getting that angle from above.
I've seen some good looking places while driving over bridges, but there is never anywhere legal to stop the car :-(
I've tried tall buildings, but found tinted dirty windows, which of course don't open.
*sigh* I'm sure one day I'll find a good spot, I'm busting to try the technique out. |

The Space Needle and Pikes Place Market come to mind. Also, that fountain area(?) on the hill above the Science Center(?) should give some elevated views. |

Well.... yes and no.
In my mind, I'm seeing a rural setting. Some trees, a small road, a car or two, some farms. Hopefully a railway track.
I would like to try a convincing scene that looks like it could have been lovingly built by a hobbyist on a table-height platform, complete with model train.
I don't think busy city scenes are anywhere near as effective. |

| How about around Gig Harbor? It's pretty steep and has some picturesque buildings. Some of the houses across the harbor are isolated among hillside trees. |

Aha! I tracked down a shot I took last year. There's a steep hill right behind where I stood to take this, so it should be "easy" to walk up a block or two and get a higher perspective.

You just have to stand in the middle of one of the streets which run straight up it : ) |
