I like this picture I took in Lithouania, not sure how to edit it though... so far I've only changed the contrast. Any ideas?

This image is in an already-processed state,and it is a very small (42kb) file, so there's not a lot I can do with it. The shadows, in this processed state, are very blocked up. In general, the image has way too much foreground and way too much sky, the subject is getting lost.

Here's your original, and a very quick rework of it for more drama:



I brought out as much shadow detail as I could, and added gradients top and bottom after cropping. I'd be happy to work on the original if you could convey it to me: my e-mail's on my profile.

I agree with Robert, that we could work much better with the original file. Till then here is my approach: castle 1, castle 2

Silver e-mailed me the original jpg files on the posted image plus another one in horizontal format where the buildings are relatively bigger. They are not very large jpg's, it being a point 'n shoot camera, but nevertheless substahntially larger than the version posted before. I chose to work with the horizontal image, since I don't vare for all that stone foreground, and here is the result:



Contrast masking brought up some shadow detail. Hue/Saturation in the yellow and red channels combined with darkening red and lightening yellow gave some textural enhancement to the buildings. Sky and foreground gradients in multiply layer mode introduced some depth to flat sky and foreground.
