Man, I just bought a 6700 from Verizon Wireless a few weeks ago and got the EvDO "broadband" data plan for $44/month. (Yes, it's a bit pricey but I am getting ready to move and relocate a bit and I want to turn off my land line and DSL.)
Anyways, I wasn't drastically impressed with performance while browsing on the PDAPhone. It felt like ol' 56k. Tonight however, I got the phone setup to work as a wireless modem. And boy does this thing book....I am getting 230K
And it is fairly comparable to my DSL connection. Loads a little differently, but sometimes I think it's actually faster. I just thought I'd mention this for those who might be inclined to having more mobile data access and the ability to upload photos, check on challenges, etc.
Well, tomorrow I call SNET/SBC/AT&T and cancel my phone & DSL line!
:)

I have the same phone for Alltel wireless and it rocks. I live in the country so I won't have evdo till maybe september, but I travel to some evdo markets and it is very fast. I get mine for free though:) because I work for them. |
