As a newcomer, I'm interested in how effective DPCPrints is in having ones's photos sold. How often are people able to get sales, and where/how do the buyers find out about the photo they choose to buy. Just curious.

It has been effective for me, by spreading the word. Some coworkers of a friend have been the best customers of mine... so to answer that last part of your question, they find out about them from me.
...really, the site still needs all the help it can get generating traffic-- BUT, I have just recently begun getting many more hits to my photos by (1) posting a link on photolinks.com and (2) putting the photos on a pbase site with a link through to the photos for sale.
Of course that pbase site is going to expire on me soon... but it looks nicer for presentation.
Really, I only have them on here because its a nice complement to have someone pay money for a photo of yours. |

So are you willing to give any hard figures - how many prints have you sold?

22. Thirteen of them were small though (4x6). |

17 - mostly 8x10 and 8x12. A few large, a few small.

22 is good, I would myself like to order a couple of yours but I am not sure they will reach here (Nagpur, India) in good shape. Guess will have to risk with a small 4x6 first

They do a good job of packing them-- they're in a fairly strong cardboard envelope, with another piece of cardboard inside.
So far, they have made it from the U.S. to Australia in good shape. |
