Balloon Event in June - Springfield MA

This is comming in June to Massachussetts, Springfield. Balloon weekend with rides, concerts, and balloon lightings in the evening. They are claimming about 50 balloons and the evening lighting will be with all the balloons tethered and lighting at the same time.

Hey, I just noticed it! Looks like fun! Can we get together for this? It's not too far from me. Got a couch for me to crash on? Or is that too much to ask? I'm willing to cook in exchange for a couch :-) We might be able to get notesinstones to show up for this one too.

We are planning on going.. I am in worcester though not in springfield I am not sure but I think we are going to drive out on sat morning early and find a place to stay over sat night

I'd love to go too. Don't see it happening, but I'd love to go. I'm with Bear though...I'll work for a place to stay. His cooking is better than mine by far though.

I think it would be fun ..for one I love balloons and always wanted to buy one but that another story.
I was hoping more people would want to go
But with you showing interest this is a start.
I will keep this thread going for awile and see what we get for respons.

Sounds pretty good to me. About a 2 hour drive for me I think. I'd be interested in a DPC get together around this! I don't know about my schedule yet for those days. I could go for the day, or maybe even two...

What we will need is the proper place to shoot them. Being on the grounds and shooting up isn't going to cut it!

I would be interested also [possibly bring my 7 year old if it's an easy kid friendly trip, otherwise prob come anyway] - I am in Boston. I was keeping an eye on this but this one is closer and with a few DP maniacs might be more fun :-)

It's too bad it's so far away... but we have a number of hot air ballons in the Northwest as well. I'm looking forward to when they start having them. For those in this area, they have a good one in Walla Walla, WA, one in Bend, OR, one in Tigard, OR, one in Albany, OR and others around Washington, Oregon and Idaho. For color and photo oppurtunities, it's a great sport.
