The default color is pink... That's just wrong!

That's brilliant! Wonder how large a bottle I would need for the 20d and 70-200 to be still and not fall over? Anyone have a plastic keg? A pink one to match the mount! :)

They need to make one to fit on your head. Might work out great for Candid III.

I won't buy it until they make carbon fiber bottles for me to use it on.

Actually more of a monopod (with a really big mono). If you have a larger camera, say a dSLR, it would probably fall over.
Creative idea, but at $19.95 the profit margin must be good!

Unless that bottle contains some mighty sophisticated hidden construction, I'd have to say that this accessory creates a monopod, not a tripod. |

Looks like a bottlepod to me but I could be wrong. :)

I just saw instructions on how to make one of these. I could swear it was in Popular Science, but of course now that I'm looking for it, I can't find it again in any of my mags.
But, here's a link to a build-it-yourself that's very similar, for anyone who's interested: Bottlecap Tripod Instructions

It's ridiculously easy to make one yourself. Just get a single 1/4 inch, 20 thread screw and a couple of washers if you feel like it. Screw it through the standard bottle cap and you're done. It might me worthwhile to include a small socket end or something to allow tightening. Total cost to make it would probably be in the neighborhood of 4 dollars?
This is a fantastic idea that is probably best to work with a flash rather than a camera though. |
