Awww, Puggers, does your photo need some Viagra?

I don't know if you guys are out of the picture yet. Frankly, I think a 6.9 could ribbon in this challenge.

I've been, well, underwhelm by most of the entries. And many of those that I have found to attractive shots are well, getting so repetitive.

I mean I swear I've voted on nearly 40 waterfall shots & droplet shots and I'm not even done voting yet.

So if you're in at 6.9 you most likely are at least top 10.

Trying to hang in there. It seems people either love or hate my pictures as it is fluctuating more than any other score that I have had.

Back to talking scores......there still is time for it to get back in the 7's. I'm not going to even think about it getting into the ribbons as that seems very unlikely at this time.

Puggers, I think I might have to agree with theSaj on this one. You may very well ribbon flittering with a 7.

It's really a burn out thing....

I'm just really bummed that my entry is doing so poorly, I mean okay, 5.5+ but I really thought I had a 6.0 entry. And it sure seemed to be such but now it just keeps declining.

I got two comments. Which kinda irks me as it's one I expected to get more comments on. I must just be really out-of-sync with the viewers of DPC.

*ponders*

Haven't felt this way since my Mourning Reflections in Granite in the Cemetary challenge, where I went a different route and did a cemetary shot that did not show a gravestone. But rather of the reflection of one mourning in a gravestone:

I think that was my hardest entry. As it only received a 4.9, a fair number seemed to think it was just a photoshopped texture overlay. *shrug* This time I suspect the fact that I did some dodge & burn has turned off viewers. But no one is commenting so I am unsure. I hope this entry gets a critique and I think I'll have to post for feedback after the challenge cause I'm really getting zip in the way of feedback.

Maybe it's a bit too out of the box. *shrugs* As I did not see many out of the box entries in this challenge.

Sadly, this is my last challenge for a while. As my 20D/70-200mm went fritzo and it's now in a box waiting for FedEx to pick it up. That'll take a couple of weeks. Which will put me into middle of April. One month before my wedding. Not sure if I will be able to get any more time in shooting before then. So I'm just feeling kinda really bummed...

Perception is reality bud...

We've all been there. We've all learned (sometimes the hard way!) that perception is reality. It doesn't matter how much work you put into a picture or what really is in the picture if the audience don't get it.

But I'm truly sorry to hear that your camera has to visit th shop for repairs. But a wedding will get you plenty of opportunities for pisture - yes, even if it's your wedding.

Best of luck to you in married life!

Well....mine is neither landscape or waterfall and my score is around the 5.3 mark. You think in this instance you would get higher scores just because its NOT landscape or waterfall. LOL

theSaj- Don't give up. I am about to celebrate my 1 year anniversary here at dpc, and I have yet to obtain a ribbon despite 55 entries. Just keep trying to eek your way up the food chain but still staying true to your own vision and style. My work/style is evolving and I truely am having a grand ole time with my hobby.

Naw...not giving up....

52 entries, no ribbon (except for Ducky) and I am learning so so much more. Lots of outside people love my shots. So that's good.

I think a lot has to do with a lack of time. Hopefully I'll find more somewhere. *lol*

I'm just bummed cause I'd at least like to have some feedback as to WHY my shot is missing the mark.

Ack - I wish I could respond to comments now. I've only got 1, but I tried what was suggested in it - and it does make my photo SO much better.

So - I wish to anonymously thank the anonymous commenter on the anonymous image - you are so right.

Oh yeah - we're supposed to be talking about scores here (but somehow I feel so ignored when I do that no matter the thread)

I don't have high hopes for this photo at all - was having monitor / editing / gamma issues that I wasn't able to correct until yesterday.

Chin up, Jason. In my opinion I take amazing and wonderful shots every week. Not a bad one in the portfolio!,(well maybe a one or two). Some of them score well, some score horribly -- some score poorly because they didn't fit the challenge the way the voters expected to see the challenge met -- but doesn't make them poor photographs. In other words, scores schmores! Shoot, shoot some more, keep shooting, and be happy. :)

I hear ya Saj ... I was easily expecting a 6.0 on mine ... but I'm currently stuck at 5.6 ish ... ahh frustrating, expecially when I have 8 comments saying how amazing the shot is! Ahhhh!

5.52

I only received 2 comments. I figured it'd garner a fair number of comments. I haven't seen anything quite like my shot on DPC.

*shrug*

Then again, a lot of my shots - I haven't seen anything like them on DPC.

*LOL*

I just want my camera back... *stressed out big time between work & wedding plans* and photography is one of the few de-stressers I have. Why?

Because when everything else requires instant completion, with photography I can sit there and take a picture, re-angle it, re-shoot it, etc. I might even take a couple of minutes to compose the shot and wait for it to be just right. *lol* It slows the pace of my insanity down. Now it's gone....

No worries, Jason. Once everyone is over that 2 seconds thingie that happened at rollover, they'll be back to voting. It may take a challenge or two to settle, though.
