For those of us that cant see the full picture on the screen at one time. Don't forget if you are using Internet explorer just press the F11 key so you can view a 640 x 640 image without having to scroll.
Press F11 again to go back to your normal browse.
Just though it may help someone while voting.

| Just had an interesting experience, where someone revised their vote upward -- the score went up while the number of votes stayed the same ... I think everyone should adopt this policy ... : ) |

That was me - I go through and give everyone a one, then go through later, give 'em a 10, then go through a third time just before the end and give them my real vote. I just like messin' with the update addicts. ;-P |

i think its mine :( i used 640X640 so i dont know why its not totally square.

I love it when that happens... it's almost as good as having your significant other say "You were right and I was wrong." (but not quite) :o)

I wish that would happen. My score is going down down down. Some voters are idiots.

I started off at about 6.5 and am now down to Avg Vote: 5.7241

Applies to my challenge entries, including this one, quite nicely! Can we just submit our portfolio for the next one?
I have simple expectations, really. I'd like to reach "average" on challenge entry. I'd like my local Starbucks to have what I want in the morning. I'd like a job where there isn't an alarm panel outside my cubicle at work that emits a high-pitched squeal day in and day out.
But alas, dear Yorrick (in keeping with the theme), I've yet to reach "average" in Square Crop; Starbucks did not have what I wanted; and the panel outside my cubicle has been squealing since Friday at 11:00 AM with no signs of abatement. |

Used to be I could hit a button and it'd shut up for about 20 minutes - the alarm, that is. That doesn't seem to work anymore. I'm thinking of pouring water into the box and claiming "the roof leaked". The fact that it hasn't rained in months may betray me, however.... :-)
And the quote in your sig line relates to what I suspect I have the hardest time with:
"The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE. Ernst Haas"
Some people have better "eyes" than others. I get discouraged, but then I remember that the level of "challenge" here is significantly higher than "average" and that's reassuring.
By the way, your "Best of 2005" is still one of my favorite pics. You have a good eye. :-) |
