Oooh another chance for me to show Achoo how a real "broken" image should be shot :)

Hehehehe! Who am I kidding? LOL!

I think I'm going to go for this one also. Two in a row, I'm on a roll. Too bad this is only temporary, next quarter's classes are going to kill me so might as well get as many challenges in before then.

I couldn't help but notice that our broken entries are now far outnumbering Motion Pan...Sheesh, I thought I was gonna get lucky and have less competition this time!

Dont worry about the others if you like it, submit it

Yet being the operative word here :))
No, I want to see ya in there! I think my shot is actually alright this week, I just can not decide between which of 3 edits to enter.

What would I do with out an infamous comment from Rikki!

I was hoping he'd be chasing a kid around for motion pan, but no such luck...word on the street he is around , too.
Love both you guys for your comments and encouragement!
Now, I need to use all that knowledge against you, and do a little butt kicking! lol

We were on what should have been an 8 hour trip home when we hit a detour due to a broken propane pipe. This sent us miles and miles and miles out of our way. I was taking photos, through the filthy windshield of our car of some neat stuff (not the propane problem). I got a couple of shots I thought were pretty neat and told my husband I wanted to enter one of them as a result of the broken pipe but he thought that was stretching to too far... Still no shot for me yet.

And good fun it is!!
I am so committed to the site that my camera broke this week, you know just to suit the challenge. But in a couple of weeks, Ill get something ( just a bit) better, then the competition will begin in earnest!

SHame you are so far away, you could shoot the ghetto cam as your entry :))

What happened to your camera??

And hey, what's so wrong with either a car in "motion panning" or a broken building in "broken"? (Sigh. Too late to go shoot anything else.)

:-)

I don't think there is a thing wrong with either of those shots...I really like the broken building. I did something else, but I won't be voting buildings or cars low!

The Cam hit the floor, the battery door broke off,but that is a dull story, so I like to think it is my sheer commitment to the "Broken" challenge :)) I can kinda sorta squeeze a shot out here and there. Its time for a new one anyway I guess!

I just joined the Critique Club! WIsh me luck :)

Bummer on the camera, but way cool on the Critique Club! And since I've decided not to enter the motion panning challenge, here's one of the shots I took today to try my hand at it. One of my goals is to try to learn something on each challenge, and in this case I did even though I'm not entering. I learned that the 70-200 f4 L will go to an aperture of 29. This I did not know!

And if you want to practice your critiquing, feel free to pick anything you want from my portfolio. :-)

Is it safe to say that based on the change in description from the first broken to this one there should be fewer shots of sad looking individuals with the title of "heartbroken" as top winners? Don't get me wrong, I am all for concept shots, but in this case I think I would rather see a good image of something that is literally "broken". No broken spirits, hearts, etc...

The water pump in my car BROKE on a busy expressway this morning. Luckily I was able to scootch to the shoulder against a cement barrier. I didn't get out to get a photo for this challenge, because then I might have been BROKEN into a million pieces by traffic. My car was towed away, and now my bank account is going to be BROKEN.

I'm feeling BROKEN. Add to that my Superbowl hangover.

Just a thought ;)
