I would really like to know what shot of yours that you think is your *best* shot and why?

For me, I think this shot is my *best* shot. Compositionally, the snake's neck is just at the right angle to suggest that it is different in a radical way (alive!). The lighting was good (and I'm no expert in lighting--this was taken in the shade of the south facing garage on a sunny day). To me, everything fell into place. The whole idea, I feel, is original and unique, and I think I pulled it off rather nicely, though more light would certainly not harm it (I had to push some levels to remove shadows, and this shows in the grain of the slight shadows that exist).

What about you? Give yourself a ribbon! Boast and brag! (And the shot doesn't have to be a challenge entry). What do you consider your best and why?

Well, I can't discuss my favorite as its in a current challenge. BUT, your 'rope' photo was the first ten I ever gave in the first challenge on which I voted. It was the first favorite in my fav folder and I still love it!

this is one of my favorite photos. Oxalis

it was taken with my 1.3 mp Olympus so it's not a spectacular image, but, i didn't notice that there was a visitor to the flowers (in the background) until i loaded it on my computer. it was a nice surprise. :)

I'm new at this, but mine would either be Maui Shore or Louisiana Swamp

That's a tough question. I've taken several shots that I really really like. I'm going to have to say this one. I think I'm most proud of it because it was really an original idea that I'd carried around for a few days trying to figure out how to pull it off. And that I pulled it off better than I expected.

I'll throw this one in as a close second. I could see before I took the shot exactly what I thought it should look like and it came out just like what I thought it would. Maybe it isn't one of my very best, but it's one that I really like because I made it happen like I wanted it to.

I think I'd consider this shot or this one to be my best so far, but I've got a long way to go.
