I took this picture at Great Adventure's safari and really like it. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to improve it.
Thanks!

Not to be too picky, but you may wish to straighten out your horizon... the river is sloping downhill and your bears may disappear with the flow.
Great capture by the way.

The color is really good. I think the background is distracting though. A tighter crop on just the bears might look nice. It's a good "pose". The contrast is a little to strong too, but you'll have that with natural direct sunlight. It's a good shot. |

like the pic, i'll go with the tighter crop too, reason being the pink on the bottom left is the first thing that your eye is drawn to when you look at the photo. since the pink is on the bottom it drags your eye right off of the page without even seeing the bears.
god knows i'm not a photographer, never claimed to be, but i a painter. the first thing i learned was to establish a focal point which will draw your eye into the painting....i'm sure it will work with photography
now if i could just get this damned brush in this camera thingy here......hehe...o my bad
hope that helps some anyhow |

try just using the number for your thumb. No url info.
It is improved, but it feels a bit weird now with the wideness. Try to keep the same aspect ratio. Having wideness in a shot can be used effectively, if there is something to it, but the focus here is on the bears.
I tried a bit of a heavy crop right in on the bears, but it looked too strange having been cropped from the 640x480.
You might consider that approach, trying to focus only on the two bears, although it is really tempting to try to get that third bear in there for interest.
Either way, it should look okay with the last example you showed, but slicing the edges off.
IMHO. |

I would prefer the background a little more blurred out...great moment captured!!
and the crop would look better if it maintained the original aspect ratio (or anything close)
Try this
[thumb]the six digit no. at the end of the URL[/thumb]

I would personally like a tighter crop, plus I like the color from the flowers even though it's not much.
