I have a sigma 28-70 1:2.8 lens for canon. When I try it with my Canon 10D camera it works only on 2.8 aperture value!!! When I tried with other aperture values like 5.6, 8, 11, B, etc it gives error and doesn?t work!! But it works fine with EOS 3 (film) camera with all aperture value.

Can any one help me with this problem??

the aperature is handled by the DIGITAL camera not the lens... you park it on 2.8 (or whatever is the lowest aperature on the lens) and let the camera do any other values

Is this one of the older Sigma lenses? If so, it may well need to be rechipped to work with digital bodies. I believe that this is quite a well known problem, but understand also that Sigma are pretty good about carrying this out.

Definitely sounds like rechipping is needed. Hopefully this one is still rechippable.
