I have been so eclipsed, and have endured
(perhaps as these trees do) by marking time.
I have felt earth creep up to bury me,
and have felt storms press down to keep me low,

But these are nothing measured at the roots:
so, like these trees, I reach because I must

the certain springing of green life anew.

echo the elegance of the land.
The clouds join in chorus

The waters still reflection
speak of quiet moments.
A simple declaration
of sweet atonements.
Now nature's symphony
is tuned with joyful bands
and sings in harmony.
The beauty of the Lowlands.

Jeff im delighted by this little poem and it fitts the image like a glove.
Thank u so much.

Hi Jeff and Rob, Your work is truly amazing. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. If you are still up to it, here's a photo to try out:

Edit: Hit the post button too soon. I was pretty much peeking through a bush to capture this guy. Butterflies, to me, are the epitomy of beauty and grace. They are so delicate and fragile, they have a short life span. Shooting them captures them for eternity.

"Norwegian Wood"

A tree stands alone
on a peaceful winter day,
reaching for the warmth
of the sun's golden rays.
The landscape is as
a canvas in a painter's hand,
with the gentle strokes
of a breeze across the land.
Nature's composition
gathers all around,
creating a sweet portrait
of brilliant color and sound.
The wind softly whistles
through the barren trees,
a blanket of snow covers
the sadness of fallen leaves.
Clouds give way to light
where shadows once stood.
Now all of nature befriends
a lonley Norwegian Wood.

I sent this print to my mother. She has moved away from the ocean, and she really misses it. I tried to write something but failed miserably. I'd appreciate your help.

Some excellent stuff in this thread!

It makes me want to recommend that comments on challenge photos should be required to be in the form of poetry. :)

j/k but would make voting more fun.

Your kitty photo is brilliant
So cute and sweet
but since the topic was "Landscapes"
the Challenge it don't meet.

And with that I am done
...oh except I forgot
to give you a ONE.

Bwahahaha. Oh I crack myself up.

Sorry - lack of sleep makes me punchy. Sorry to hijack. You can drop me off here.

Hey Jeff - I'll throw one at you also. It is my Mom's house, was my Grandfathers house and was originally an old shack he had since I was a toddler. We used to visit almost every year. He and my Grandma lived in it when he retired from the Fire Dept. until she died about 15 years later (1988). He lives in a nursing home now and my Mom lives in the house with my 16 year old nephew.

Is that enough info? LOL - thanks in advance - no rush - whenever

If it helps, this is the view from those chairs.

Touching the past and remembering, thankful for all our todayĆ¢€™s,
feelings sculpted in history, emotions drawn-out from within.
those that were once forgotten,

Dismissed as embarrassments, sidelined by authority,
parked in the cul-de-sac of attitudes, now stand proud,
your spirit and courage is honoured,

Respect is given, unqualified in its deliverance,
with hope for the future, for we must learn from our past,
as society moves ever forward, lets us not forget.

In a time were policies governs and attitudes change on a whim,
history that great leveller of men must draw upon its resources
and remember those that gave, as,
all gave some and some gave all.

Wow, what a beautiful picture of that house - I love everything about it. The chairs are a really cool part of the image. Even more is that view. Fantastic. Thanks for sharing it.

These are fantastic. Bear - I was particularly impressed with yours. WOW

I guess I should post a pic worthy of some prose... Hmmmmm

Well I think I'd like some inspired words for this one:

"All Gave Some-Some Gave All"

Trembling hands quietly reach
to touch the granite stone.
Tears of sorrow stream,
reflecting a solemn tone.
A swelling pride in country
and for the life of loved ones lost.
Homage for their valiant service
who humbly waged the cost.
Those who live and breathe today
remember and wipe their eyes.
For those who paid the sacrifice
the momuments immortalize.
So many souls honored in memory,
thier names inscribed upon this wall.
They selflessly answered the call of duty.
All Gave Some-Some Gave All.

THAT was AWESOME! That pic framed with an engraving of that poem would make a great tribute type gift.
