These 2 might work.....but a 85mm 1.8 would prob. be best. imo

Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX APO HSM AF, includes hood and case. Less than 2yrs old, great shape. Don't know how many shots, but I use it for softball/other......asking $675.00

Canon EF 100mm f2.8 usm, macro, af. includes hood. Not used much purchased about a year ago. Like new. ....asking $400.00

Get the 85 1.8, I think it's in your price range and will work great.

Focal length does not change when you mount a lens on a different camera.

The majority of the photos I take are of bands in small venues. I try not to rely on my flash too much as it tends to kill the feel of the show. I just ordered the Sigma 20mm f/1.8 it's the only thing I could find that wide and that fast. I'll post some pics as soon as it gets here!

85 1.8 is about 300 US, and then you can maybe get a 35 2.0. If you get both used, you'll be fine. You'll see that while zoom is appreciated, the extra stop and more on an 85 or 35 is much more appreciated.
