just wondering how the remote works for the nikon d70s like do you have to go buy one and are there different models and how much are they? thanks

You do have to by separate from the camera. I think there is only one model...and I'm not sure of the cost.

Yes, you go buy one. Nikon makes one, but it's just an IR remote, so you can program any "learning" remote to do it. Several people are selling small key-chain type remotes on eBay which are just learning remotes that they have programed with the Nikon button. I got an official Nikon one for about $25 (shipping included) off eBay.

I got the one model that I know of and like it....it was pretty cheap if I remember correctly (like 15 bucks).

I bought one, too. It works nicely at short distances, but it only has a range of a few feet. I find that it's very handy for long exposure shots on a tripod, where I don't want to jiggle the camera while firing the shot.
