Hello Everyone!
I'm obviously new here, but not so new to the forums scene. I've been a part of many forums but found them all lacking... say... A HOBBY!
I've always enjoyed taking pictures and some people think I have a knack for it. I wish I hadn't been too late for the self-portrait challenge. Oh well... next time.
So I guess this is where I give a little info about myself.

22yrs, female, Hawaii with one (& ONLY one) child. I enjoy anything outdoors, listening to new music, da kine & my PC (a little too much).
Ahui ho!
:D

I'm not sure how many DPCers are based in Hawaii. Looks like about 9 of you! Volcanoes, rain forests, ocean shots, tourists--you've got some great stuff going on there! Welcome!

Hey, Kali! E' komo mai! Come on with da deets! Which island, Kama'aina or implant? If implant, how long there?

I had the blessing of living on the Big Island, Hilo side, for 10 years. Moved back to the ML almost 7 years ago and am still acutely homesick. Maybe some day......

Aloha nui loa!

Mahalo Kavamama!

I would be implanted here 3 years now. My other half is local and my little turd was born at Kapiolani. I'll prob'ly be leaving the islands in a few years :( but i will be venturing up to beautiful Oregon so it won't be so painful to leave. I'm on Oahu, Aiea to be exact.

Oh and i just uploaded an old pic of baby and i into my profile. Have a peek.

You are certainly not alone on this island. There are actually a few of us here at Hickam AFB, working as photographers and videographers, that use this site as training. So, from all of us to you ... aloha and welcome.

I saw the pic of you and da keiki, beautiful! Hope to see more of you both. We used to go to Waikiki when we got rock fever, stumbled around like country mice that we were, watching the hookers accosting the tourists. What a hoot! Plenty stuff to see on Oahu, but I surely hope you make it to the Big Island while you're there. Watch out, though, it kinda gets into your blood and the mana is intense. It'll never let you go no matter how far you stray! Send in lots of HI stuff to help relieve my homesickness! Again, E'komo mai!

Yeah I know what you mean about it getting in your blood. I've been to Maui 3 times, last time was Hana side and it completely blew my mind. The best pix I took over there tho somehow got corrupted on my memory card and now that space is just blank. Very frustrating. So anyways, yes I have to visit the BI and Kauai before I leave the islands... it's sort of a promise to myself. I will try my best to portray Hawaii and relieve some of your homesickness, but with my camera I can't make any promises.

I'm here to revive an old thread from the dead!
Actually, I was just looking to see how many other people were from Hawaii here on these forums. And I figure your first post should be an introduction so...Aloha all!
Name is Jon I'm 21, and just found out about this site, and I must say it is very interesting and inspiring. Just got into digital a few months ago. I actually bought the P8 just to supplement my 35mm photography. Now I'm wishing I had a DSLR! I wouldn't have to spend long hours, even days in the darkroom and the costs of paper, film and my time! One day I'll make the transition.
