As I understand it we are not able to enter both of the open challenges. [edited for content]

Using the same model is ok. There are quite a bit of family members here at the site; husbands & wives, moms, dads, kids, etc.
If you have to pay for a model or something it's good to have someone split with you. Since none of my friends or family want to be photographed, I would have take this route if the opportunity opens itself.

yup, as long as its not the same photo. also, remember specific references to a photo while in its voting stage is not allowed.

Not against the rules, but bad etiquette |

it's a matter of being fair to the photographers. we shouldn't debate the ins and outs of their images while voting progresses. that could influence scores, which is against the rules. |

ok sorry about that, new to this site. Just thought it was strange to see the same girl in different challenges.... but I guess it makes sence. |

Totally agree with the not discussing entries, but I'm just being pedantic here and playing devils advocate, but I can't see anywhere in the rules which says you can't discuss photos, I'm prepared to be pointed in the appropriate direction here to the appropriate rule.
I was born to cause a fuss.. LOL

It's not in the rules and no one is punished (at least officially) for doing so. We just ask as a common courtesy that entries are kept secret and will sometimes edit or ask that the poster edit a post which discloses a current entry.
Those who are born to cause a fuss, however, are flogged. Repeatedly. :) |

It's not in the rules ... |
Actually, it is in the rules, or in the Terms of Service, where it says you may not take any actions designed to "influence the votes."
Starting a thread which says, as a hypothetical example, "The ___ photo of the ___ in the ___ challenge really sucks!" seems to me to be a pretty clear attempt to influence the votes which that photo gets.
For that matter, I find the threads which say how disappointed (or thrilled) people are with the overall quality of the entries to be pretty rude to the people who haven't voted yet, if not illegal.
To me, the time to comment on challenges and their entries is after the results are in, when the discussion can be based on real comparisons of photos you can look at. |
