Heres a diversion for you DPC junkies.
(If you post the right answer, I will confirm it. If not Ill post the answers later tonight.)
#1 I am the beginning of sorrow, and the end of sickness. You cannot express happiness without me, yet I am in the midst of crosses. I am always in risk, yet never in danger. You may find me in the sun, but I am never out of darkness.
#2 There is a town in Texas where 5% of all the people living there have unlisted phone numbers. If you selected 100 names at random from the town's phone directory, on average, how many of these people would have unlisted phone numbers?
#3 Two words, my answer is only two words.
To keep me, you must give me.

#2 is Zero.
I'll have to think more about the other. |

#1 is the letter S
#3 is your word
I agree with LKMote about #2.

Correct.
Zero. You will not find unlisted phone numbers in a phone directory. |

I go around in circles
But always straight ahead,
Never complain
No matter where I am led.

This is a hard one - maybe?
I build up castles.
I tear down mountains.
I make some men blind,
I help others to see.
What am I?

Alive without breath,
as cold as death,
never thirsty,
ever drinking,
when tired, never winking.

Read that book for the first time when I was 7 years old. Too many times to count since then. |

Not a riddle but a good brain teaser:
Where did the common "military salute" get its start?

Armored knights raised their visor to identify themselves when they rode past their king. This custom has become the modern military salute.
The more you have of it, the less you see. What is it? |

I cheated and looked this up but the answer is pretty interesting.
