That's a lovely shot John. In a completely different league to many of the pet snapshots that one sees.

Thanks Tim... I have been trying to get one good portrait of my cat... One of those shots that will be around after he isn't. This one is very close to what I want but I gotta keep trying... :)

John, that's a great shot. A bit dark on the left side of his face, IMO.

I know how hard it is to take a good shot of a cat...for last weeks challenge I must have taken 100+ shots of my parent's feline, and let me tell you, it was hard to get her to sit/stand still.

Good luck, and let us know what the final portrait will look like...also if you learn of any tips along the way, let us know ;)

Hey John, great work as always. It might be time to quit your day job. Cats are just fun to photograph. My wife finally convinced me to get a cat. I think it will go blind from all the camera flashes it has had to endure. Here a a few:

The dark on the left side of the face is intentional... i underexposed the shot and leveled it to make it even darker.. What I would really like is more light on the wall behind the cat so the dark side of the face is accented by the backlight... i'm repositioning the lamp so I may be able to get that next time he perches on his favorite table... lol...
