O.k. I am thinking of buying a Tripod for my Canon Powerhshot A520. The price is the big thing, like err $10-$30, it should be fairly compact, and can fit my camera, any ideas?

while im at it, I know that Canon only has 3 extra lenses that you can buy for the A520, I was wondering if you can buy any other thing that will fit?

Looks like your cameras will fit with:
Optional 0.7x Wide (WC-D52),1.75x Tele (TC-DC52A) & close up (250D) converters
ΓΆ€ΒΆ Optional 52mm filter adapter
ΓΆ€ΒΆ Optional waterproof case (WP-DC50)
ΓΆ€ΒΆ Optional High Power Flash (slave)

A cheap tripod is not recommended. Some of the lower priced ones in a slight wind may possibly tip over and slam the camera to the ground.

there's some inexpensive tripods that you can find at bestbuy and walmart.

A few things to check:

1) When fully extended will it be high enough for you?
2) How sturdy is it? The only way to check this is to go to a store that has one and check it out. As already stated the really light ones might not be any good if it's a bit windy.
3) Is there a place to attach a counter weight to make it more steady? There's usually a place to hang your camera bag to give the tripod an anchor and make it more stable.

The screw on the head of the tripod is a standard size, so all tripods should work.

Some are video tripods and I believe they are the same size too. The only thing is they support more weight.
