Is it something to do with the dpi? I am puzzled also about that. All of my images transfer from the camera to teh PC and show 72dpi in Properties. The ones from my sister's Nikon D70 are at 300dpi.

Does this create a file size problem? Are my pics worse for being at 72dpi? I can't find anything in any of the Glossaries about this.

Here’s an easy way to submit a 640 x 480 size photo (or any acceptable size you wish to post), even when PS enhancements brought the original size photo to 30,000 kb. This method is valid with PS (I have PS7). I didn’t try any other program or method.

1. In PhotoShop, starting from your large size photo, reduce the size to 640 x 480 (or any acceptable size you wish to post) and click SAVE FOR WEB.
2. A first dialog box opens, with your photo in it. On the right side, from the top, you have options SAVE, CANCEL, DONE, then a Settings field. On the right of that field is a little round button with an arrow on it. Click that button and select Optimize to file size.
3. A second dialog box opens. Type 100k (or more, if you are allowed more) in the "Desired file size" box. Click OK.
4. Click Save in the first dialog box.
5. Give your resized file a name (I usually simply add a suffix - letter or digit - to the original name).
6. Add some subtle USM (the resized photo is usually a little more blurry). I usually set it to 300-500% at a 0,2 pixel radius and 0 threshold.
7. Post your resized photo!
