Grrrr... yet another week of sitting on the sidelines for me! For some reason I have just lost my creativity and have not been able to come up with anything good for the past challenges!
I've got to snap out of this funk, because I miss my update button! :(

I went out on a limb with a "different" shot this time - my son looked at it and thought I was crazy. Fully prepared for something in the 3.5 - 4.5 range, I clicked in this morning.

Made my shot in a rush never seen before. Had about 40 minutes to do it, and it took about 30 in the end.. it came out surprisingly good, although it has some obvious flaws.

Well, this was my first challenge submission. Actually it was the first picture I posted on DPC (just not the first seen). Due to the nature of the shot, I could not keep shooting and re-shooting.
All I have to say is timing is everything, and my timing was off!

Does it seem like the number of snapshots and ridiculously bad images is abnormally high for this challenge?
I'm at a 4.48 with 74 votes, I thought I'd do a bit better, but I knew this wasn't my best photo.

never fails when i post my scores in once of these threads my score always drops way low. I am never going to post my scores again (after this challenge)

| I am surprised at the number of cows that are not dairy cows AND the number of cows that you cannot tell if they are dairy cows or not. Also the number of splash shots. |

I did not enter. All the ideas i had were cliches (cows, splash shots, milk mustache or spilt milk). So when voting i am not surprised by the quantity of such shots. I am not marking them down, but to get a high vote it gotta be above average!
What does surprise, and disappoint, is how many of the shots (I have not finished voting yet) are just average, technically flawed and not that good. Is this january? Do we have lots of new first timers or something?
On the good side, no terrible pics, no off-topic (but one was close) so I guess that is a change from normal.

I am really surprised by how few of us actually have any comments. I for one would love to know why I am getting such low scores. I have voted the average kind of photograph at about a 5 or 6..so I am feeling like a real pathetic photographer right now. |

Ermmmmmmmm. Are you sure about that? I had a look through this morning and there a couple that looked WAY off topic. I actually thought that someone had 'spammed' the site by submitting a few pointless photos.
Maybe I am totally missing the connection to dairy, or my computer is displaying some 'rogue' thumbnails. Without saying what the entries are, is anyone else seeing the same thing here? |
