I see there are "digital flashes" on the market, is there any advantage in having a "digital flash" as opposed to a normal flash, and what are the differences?
Also, can anyone reccomend a suitable flash system, possibly with slave unit, for use with my fuji s7000

I bought a Jessops 280D (for my s7000) which i am happy with. I was using my old flash from my film EOS but when i went to the shop they said that you should use a digital flash as there is less power and with a film flash there is a chance that a large electrical charge could go into the camera, which is not good. Not sure if they were talking rubbish an just wanted me to spend more money?

Am I imagining it or did someone ask about a flash for an S7000 yesterday?? We really need to get the search functionality sorted..
Maybe I could write a custom DPC database search daemon to put behind PHP?

There is really no such thing as a digital flash. Buy a flash if avaiable that with intergrate with your camera's metering system TTL. If your camera just has a hot shoe then just about any flash will do, even some classics like the vivitar 283. It you want to do wireless sync and your internal flash has preflashes then you must get a newer unit from someone like Metz that can be programed to ignore the preflashes and sync with the exposure. |
