I'm dreaming about my next camera. My pocketbook says the FZ-30 is the one. My heart says the Oly e-300 with upgrade to the E-x which has to be in the works is the way to go. Any thoughts? |

Do both. I had the FZ20 before my DSLR. I still use it. The FZ30 sounds exciting to me, lots of neat features. One that I find to be a big improvement is the fixed lens barrel. Not only does it allow a much faster start up time, it makes the whole camera a lot more stable and reliable. I had the same thing in my old Pro 90 and it felt like a rock. The E-x isn't out yet and we don't know what it will be like. You may want to wait for the E-x+1.

I'll offer to take possession of Hubble when they're done with it, if they'll ship for free (no ballistic shipping!) ;-)

Thanks for all the opinions guys.
I'll pass on the Hubble. I'm an old geezer and its too much to carry and I'm not sure I could get a shot of a butterfly unless the critter was on Mars.
The E-300 fits my hand and I like the idea of the dust screen for the sensor. Of course if I got it, the lens that I really want is $7,000 in round numbers. |
