Good use of B & W and sepia.
PS. Now that you've got the thumbnail thingy down could you change the image in your second post to a link? It's a little large for the forum. Gotta keep it friendly for dial up. ;o)

I don't think you need a lot of advice, I looked at you're portfolio and it looks like you know what to do. I would say to stretch your artistic composition, a lot of your photos are framed in the center or exactly how you would expect. Also keep looking for subjects that you don't see everyday. What you have is very good it's just you see pictures like those a lot. Just trying to help, don't be mad :) |

Mad, that's what I need to hear. Feel like I get into a rut sometimes. I am still really new at this so even if I get a good shot it can always be better, or maybe I missed something. I take all advice. |

I left you some comments. Something you might consider to help you improve is give comments on other people's images. It may sound odd, but by really examining someone else's work, you learn an incredible amount about your own and how to improve it. I know I have. It's funny, but you really start seeing more and more things in your own work that you've commented on before and either really liked or really disliked. It helps.
Just my 2 cents...

lissylou is right. You have some talent which definately shows in your work. Now what you need is a little creative imagination. Sorry for the cliche but you need to shoot outside the box. Try this it sounds kinda corny but it was an exercise once passed to me. Take the yellow pages and just open to a random page and whatever that subject is go find a creative way to shoot something off that page. It'll really help you break out of forced shooting and opens the creative juices. Let me know if it helps? |
