Haha! Good luck. First off they're out of production and they were only made to order when they were in production. Secondly they used to cost $60k new.

Also check out the Sigma 800mm 5.6 and the 300-800mm ex :-)

I was not aware that they were out of production but what I do know is that less than 30 of those were ever produced! Sports Illustrated owns 4.

for $6000 you can get this lens at 1600mm and F11 with a 2x. I've seen samples of the lens with no extender and it's droolworthy for sure.

the 800mm sigma is 6k the 1200 canon is 60k... I don't know what the going price is anymore, i'm not in the market to look for one ;-)

I think it's another victim of the "no lead or arsenic in the glass" purge that Canon went on. That's the reason the 200 f1.8 went out of production.
