When we go into photographer profiles to search for a person I see there is user name, first and last name, when they joined, the camera they use. It would be nice if we could have a states option. I would love to see how many others there are in my state. Is this going to be something new?

At this point the location field is freeform text, which would mean that it cannot be sorted except alphabetically by whatever the person entered. I do not know whether this is being changed for DPC2. Of course, any solution would have to accomodate international users as well.

I would really like to see a Country/State Column in the list of photogrpaher profiles, as well as a search capability by Country or State.

Lol Linda, there are lots of clues in this weeks challenge. :)

Looks like there is a whole colony in Seatle. And I didn't know we had any one in St Louis/St Charles.Mo.

There are other clues in the Map thread and the "Where are you from" thread in Questions.

So true! But I would like to be able to see where people are without having to resort to clues! I am enjoying the challenge this week though - it's very interesting, and I didn't know anyone was in St. Louis, but I was thinking we'd see that arch.

We need to open up that "Gender" box to more than just two answers as well.

Maybe there's an opportunity for a STRATEGIC alliance between CUPIDJUNCTION.COM or SINGLE.COM and DPC ?

Hey Sonja,

Search by location has already been coded into the new DPChallenge site. Like Terry pointed out, location is currently a text field, and changing that would cause us to lose information for users who didn't want to update to the new format. It's still really cool ;)

Oh, and ignore these smartasses!

Just curious as to whether there's a date set for the launch of the mythical, yet oft-referred to "DPC2?" I've seen quite a few posts referring to this new version of the site, and I'm curious to learn when we might get to see it!

Since we're rewriting the site, one marker for completion would be "Are we where dpchallenge.com is now?" And the answer is, "No." But, we're working really hard on that. We keep coming up with new ideas (more often having them suggested to us), and it just adds to the list. I can assure you that Langdon and I both write code for it every day. If I had to pick an ETA, I'd say 2-3 weeks ... though we just made a decision that may add another week or two to that estimate.
