I tried to submit a photo to the Transportation challenge but it says that my photo date was outside the submission dates. I understand what that means but there are no submission dates to shoot between, just a deadline. My photo was shot before the deadline date. Does the "submission dates" restriction actually go by the voting dates? There are two dates for that entry in the rules.
I'm a new user of this site and just a little confused here.

| The rules state that you must take the photo during the submission date (in this case not before the 23rd). |

I think I understand now. I'm guessing that the challenge runs for a week and the photo has to be taken within 7 days prior to the dealine? I was looking for posted beginning/ending dates in the rules. Couldn't see the forrest for the trees, I guess. Not the first time I over complicated something. ;-)

Umm, look on the left side of the page that comes up when you click "View Details and Submit." It used to be there.

This is all that was in the left frame of the window that opens when I click that link regarding exposure date.
"Exposure Date: Your photograph must be taken within the submission dates for the challenge."
Nowhere in this challenge do I see submission dates outlined...
Thanks anyway though. |

| Submission dates: They start the moment the challenge appears. If the challenge is on the website, it has started, and you are in the submission period. It ends on the "Submission Deadline" that you see on the "View Details and Submit" page. It's really easy. If the challenge is up, it's time to start shooting. |

From the top of the rules page:
Image Submission Format
Photographs must follow these standards for submission:
File Format: JPEG (.jpg)
File Size: No larger than 150 kb.
Dimension: No dimension may be shorter than 160 pixels or longer than 640 pixels.
Exposure Date: Your photograph must be taken within the submission dates for the challenge unless otherwise specified in the 'extra rules' section of the challenge.
On the very front page of the site, where the challenges are listed, this is what it says (formatting modified for emphasis):
Challenge: Multi-Image Compositions
Type: Members Challenge
Submission Dates: 4/21/2003 - 4/27/2003
Submissions: 41
View Details and Submit
Challenge: Transportation
Type: Open Challenge
Submission Dates: 4/23/2003 - 4/29/2003
Submissions: 35
View Details and Submit
Everyone must indicate that they have read the rules before submitting a photo. Perhaps the date should be made the first item in the list, but otherwise I think it's pretty clear when the photos should be taken.

| Ahhh, I see now. I was looking on the Challenges page by clicking on the "Challenges" button at the top of each page. When I click the "My Home" button and go to that page to view the challenges the dates are there. Thanks for the pointer to the front page. |

| Are you using netscape? EVERY date is outside the submission date so I can never submit from the computer with only netscape. I have to transfer another with Safari or Explorer. |
