No cropping.

To be 'in the spirit' of Cartier Bresson, all pictures should have the same black border the same size. 2 suggestions (other suggestions ?)

variation 1) No border in the photo. All photos of this challenge would be displayed with a 4 pixels black border (work for drew and langdon)

variation 2) Picture should include a black ' pixel border (a tutorial could explain how to to in in the standard softwares)

Always time to go back at Cartier Bresson and some of his pictures

"All of Cartier-Bresson's compositions are done at the time of exposure, and all of his photos (except Behind the Gare St. Lazare, 1932) include the black border of the negative, indicating that no cropping is done in the darkroom."

I almost always crop in camera during composition . What Im starting to find out is, if I want to print different sizes, I really wish I had a little more photo to play with before the resizing to a particular print size. Anyway, thats been my experience.

You already have :) D60 and 10D viewfinder is not 100% coverage, so in effect, you are already cropping if you use the viewfinder as the way to compose images.

I leave enough room in the viewfinder for my shot, but I like to shoot tight to my composition. The post shot is fine. Im shooting in the large/fine mode (3072x2048) Where I seem to run into trouble is printing an 8x10, it seems that I always have to crop the image to get to the proper dimensions. So if I shot a nice tight composition, I may end up cutting something out of frame to get to print size.

Maybe Im doing something wrong to get the print size down, any thoughts?

I shoot under the same idea here... with a 4:3 ccd, i know that either some of the top/bottom or left/right will have to crop to go to the 1.25:1 print ratio.

The other approach is to re-size the canvas so you get your whole shot and a border on the paper - which I like anyway.
