| I purchased a Lexar High-Speed Professional CompactFlash card [ 80X =12Mb/sec – with WA] with my Canon 350D on march 31, 2005 so its only about 1 ½ months old. A couple of times when I went to download files there would be a corrupt file but I could view files before and beyond the corrupt file. Today I took several pictures then changed lens. The first picture taken after changing lens was corrupt and when I went to delete it I could not. It said file protected. I tried everything to delete that file in the camera and from my computers CF Drive. I would not work unless I formatted card in camera. So I lost all files after that corrupt file, about 10 or so. That’s the first time this has happened. I turned the camera off during lens change and did not remove CF card. Any suggestions what may have went wrong or what I may have done wrong? |

might be a setting IN camera as opposed to the card itself, Im guessing you have used other cards with the camera without problems... If so then you might be better off returning the card to the shop and getting a replacement.
Try resetting your camera to default first though. |

No I have not used any other card. This is the only one I have. I did purchase it locally at wolfcamera and is under a lifetime warranty.

I'm assuming that you initially formatted in in the camera?

After I download files to computer and place the CF card back into the camera i format it. Should I not do that??? |

No, I do the same, but I have had probs if I format the card using the PC. Dunno why, but I have. Just wondering if you did the same. |

No I always format in the camera. |

| Sounds like a bad card. I'd definitely take it back and get it exchanged. That card should be reliable and fast, and you should get what you paid for. |

Yes, I turn the camera of during the change of lens. I also make sure I'm not in the bright sunlight. |

| Well, I'd have to say that if it is happening at about the same number of frames on the card then it's the card! |

| My Lexar 80x card is back at Lexar pending a warranty replacement. It became corrupted somehow in my 350D, and I could no longer format it in any camera. Interestingly, I've had two Transcend cards become corrupted and refuse to format in the same camera, yet they worked fine (and could be formatted) on other cameras. All three cards had been used for many months in a 300D and 20D without a single problem. |
